Vocal guide track

Hi,
 
I'm thinking I need a vocal guide track because I am deaf in one ear and tone deaf in the other;)
 
Any suggestions?

    Occasionally I will place a guide "tone", usually an organ sound to "tune" my ear.
    Doing a tune where the first note was a flat 3 I kept hitting the 1 and bending up to the minor 3rd.
    Put the flat 3 in there and viola I was good to go.
    Is that sort of what you meant?
    As this is Techniques, not the Coffee House, I'm guessing you were serious.

    I often need the guide tracks because I don't remember the changes I make to the melody. The original melody I create strumming guitar is usually too basic and lacks variation, so I try dozens of alternatives, and the one I finally use, needs to be written in the piano roll.

    SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

    I occasionally use vocal guide tracks, not for helping me with tuning, but for getting ideas down I'm likely to forget.
     
    If I've got some idea of the lyrics already, then I'll use Plogue Alter/Ego for any vocal guide tracks:

    The main reason for me using this is that it captures not just the melody, but also the phrasing.
