Screen Resolution Issue With Sonar

Hi there,

I'm hoping someone can lend a hand with an viewing issue I'm having with Sonar.  I am currently running Sonar X2 Studio and have recently moved over to a new laptop (HP Spectre Windows 10 64bit) that has a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080.  Have managed to transfer the programme ok however when I open the programme the elements appear tiny on screen, to the point where its completely unusable.

I've tried messing around with other resolutions in the setting but have not had any success and the screen in the programme does not change.  I've also tried going through my Cakewalk Account to log an issue but there appears to be no technical support or email address to send the issue to!

Does anyone have any ideas of how I can sort this as I'm completely stumped?

Many thanks

Chris

You don’t say how large your laptop screen is, but if it’s in the range of 13”–15” as most laptop screens are, a resolution of 1920x1080 will make things look tiny. I think your best option if you are going to use it with SONAR is to buy a larger monitor and connect it to the laptop. I would say that the minimum for that resolution is 24” (unless you're very young).

Seeing that this is your first post since 2015 I assume that you don’t visit this forum very often. You seem to have missed that Cakewalk has been abandoned by its previous owner Gibson and that all intellectual properties have been sold to a company called BandLab. Read more here: http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3743935

Additionally, this forum is soon to be closed down (probably within just a few days). Read more here: http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3806006.

In short: the good news is that you can download and install a brand new DAW called Cakewalk by BandLab for free, which is basically an updated version of Cakewalk SONAR 2017.10. Updates are distributed regularly.

Cakewalk by Bandlab will benefit you in another way, too.
One of my issues with it is the 'bigness' of everything, so that may make it easier to see on your laptop.

Funny how there's been a lot of first posters lately and they are mostly using old versions of Sonar still. When you log on to this forum you get a BIG pop up telling all about the free version of Cakewalk by Bandlab.
The BIG pop up shows up even when you open anything to do with Sonar or Cakewalk like Cake TV and the (outdated) Knowledge base. So there seems to be no reason that people would not have realized by now that Cakewalk is now 100% free. And fully supported.
Old Cakewalk Sonar is long gone and is not supported, this forum was the last of the support and it is now to be closed down very soon.
Funny thing is there are still torrents for the old versions of Sonar. Think about how lame that is. :)
