Hello!!

Hi folks!!!

I'm new here so let me say hello and introduce myself first.

My name s Bill and I am a guitar player from LA. One of my best friends, James Kim, is a regular member here and he recommended this forum. I've been using Sonar for a while and I am learning slowly.. I still have lots to learn though.

Anyway, I do have some songs avaialble on soundclick if you want to hear what I've been working on.

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/2/billlimamusic.htm

And I played guitar on a few of James' tracks as well. We're always recoding together.

Thanks and Blessings

Bill

    Hey Bill,
Welcome. Unfortunately SoundClick is not responding (it does this sometimes); I'll check later. I've enjoyed James work, so I've probably heard your playing already, and will give it a listen later.

    Bill,
Ok, had a chance to listen to a few. Nice playing and style; these would make nice backing tracks. You may want to find a collaborator to do lyrics and vocals with you.

Regarding the mix: it's a pretty good start, there is a lot of thickness in the the low mids. I'd recommend read through these references (link). There are a lot of ideas in there to crisp and punch up the sound. Most contributors here (myself included) are also instrumentalists first, engineers second and we really need to work on this.

You'll often get more specific feedback when you post one song and ask for specific input, like, does this chorus work, or, hows the mix.
Nice stuff, thanks for putting it up.

hey ed.. this exactly the kind of stuff I'm looking for.. this kind of technical info.. so I can record without having to call James every 10 minutes or so
I do collaborate with a lot of other singers but my own music is instrumental..

Thanks for listening and I wil read carefully all the information on the link you provided me.. I need lots of help on the technical side.

I listened to 1, Destruction? Anyway, was nice but a little too long and repeatitive.

    Recording wise sounded OK tho.
