Anybody use a bass amp modeller?

Does anybody out there use a bass amp modeller?
My bass is kinda dry and needs change.
I've got tunes ready but the bass sounds terrible.
Any help would be great

I use a Boss GT6 B and have used a Behringer Bass Vamp both of which work well for recording. I have had just as good results plugging my bass straight into my soundcard then using Amplitube le and Revalver together. Takes a bit of time to set up but seems to fit better in the mix than using the GT6.

You're using both products I was looking at. The V-Amp pro looked interesting but I don't have the specs, only the price and a picture. I never thought of Amplitube as a bass effect, I'll also play with that idea.
I'll go online to Behringer to check out the modeller and the GT-6B
    Thanks

I use a Digitech BP50. I use a GNX3 for my guitar, so I was already happy with the Digitech stuff. The BP50 isn't fancy, but it does have a decent collection of amps and cabs, and is cheap (about $60 w/o power supply).

The V amp is OK for the price and is fine for recording but a bit limited. The GT6B is the way to go if you want lots of great effects as well. A great toy to play with also but a bit pricey. I would give the Amplitube a go first. Try one of the clean presets then tweak the eq etc to get the sound you want. I use it on all my bass now then insert Revalver after it as it has better speaker simulators. Then I put the DB multiband limiter on after that and it sounds like my live rig.

Hi, I was in the same situation. I was using presonus tube pre and amplitude to record bass...it was OK, but not exactly what I was looking for. I mentioned this to a bass playing buddy and he said Musician's Friend is closing out thier Toneworks Ampworks bass modeler for sixty bucks. I ordered one and it a was a good investiment. Easy to use and it generates some good bass tones. Also got the guitar version, and it is a pretty decent box too for sixty dollars. Not trying to spam, just wanted to let you know of a good deal.
    Good Luck!

    Thanks for the input guys
I read in the forum some advice one guy gave to another..
B4 buying anything new, Learn how to use what you have first.
I think I'm gonna play with Amplitube and Revalver first and go from there.
I've got plenty of time to spend money later.
    Thanks to everybody

Tankroomstudio - can you give us some of the specifics of your Amplitube and ReValver settings? What do you use in your revalver stack? I am a guitarist and have had trouble getting a good bass sound.

Amplitube set on clean amp with 2 x12 eq to taste. Revalver (Full Version) Pre-amp 14, power amp 4 and usually 2 x 12 speaker. I put amplitube on first then Revalver then dbaudio multiband limiter. Takes a bit of tweaking to get it to sound good but I have now got various configurations that sound better than any miked up sounds I have achieved before and better than anything I have got from the Boss GT6B so far.
