Here we go "JUGS"

This is Jugs . It is my first song that I have completed on HS.

Please keep in mind that this is a rough draft. I know that the timing is off in some spots, but that is fixable.

All comments and critiques are welcome and appreciated.

Thanks

Don

Nice first effort... The kick is breaking up a bit in my headphones. Also, the kick on every quarter not is common in dance music, but less common with a composition like this... maybe alternate with a snare. I would also probably lower the volume on the hihat a bit. I would try to use a more full string sound, if you don't have access to better string sounds, maybe adding a little chorus or a nice reverb would fill it out.

Nice keyboard playing... nice melody... cool chord progressions.

When the track is finished, I'd be glad to critique it!

The best is always yet to come. Now...shut up and make some noise!

    mlockett,

Thanks for the feedback. This was one of my first times using the Drum Mapper in HS. I myself was not pleased with the overall drums. I did notice the Hi Hat was a little loud. I need to look into finding a better drum kit. Any suggestions?

If you want to spend a little money, BFD or DFHS are two of the favorites (you can do a search on the Sonar forum for them). If you're not looking to spend much, there's a kit called NSKit that is free, though you need some type of sampler software to use it. There are a number of options depending on what you're looking for and your budget.

    Good luck!
