Guitar sounds really tight on "Night Out"! Only thing I'd like to hear a little differently is some compression on the lead. Great tune to chill to, then get up & dance. One thing about the drums, at 1:55 they're kinda confusing (to me) for a few seconds, then the rock groove sets in & I'm fine. Hope you had fun laying this one down... I enjoyed it...

I agree with Ona - the lead rhythm guitar on "Night Out" needs to be reigned in via light compression and a general reduction in volume. You've got a big sound in this mix. The solo electric guitar sound is awesome - really nice and gritty, but again needs compression and is too loud (screetchy) over the musical bed. Tone it down.

    Kirk,
Cool tune. And, yeah, what they said.

So, put this filter on the lead guitar at the end: f=4.9K, Q=0.6, G=-6dB in High-shelf mode

Thank you so much for listening and giving your advice. In Truth, the dirty guitar will not be part of this song. It was just a one take, this is for fun but I know I'll do something better kind of thing, in fact I deleted that track right after mixing the mp3, so it's gone and I can't compress it or filter it, though I know that would be good advise if I was to keep it. It's just there for filler right now. I'm trying to coraborate with a friend on this one, but he's moving very slowly and meanwhile, my soundcard committed hara kiri. I can hear with it, but cannot record anymore so until I can afford my presonus fire pod that I dream of, I'm dead in the water.

Did you get a chance to listen to the song "In This Place"? I'd really like to hear your response to that one, it is also on soundclick under the name "kirkinreno"

I will also upload the original "Night Out" there if you'll check back in a couple days. I'd really like to get some real sax parts on there if anyone who plays is interested. Or Trumpet.

On the drums, It was just a roll and a snare. The drums are the only loops I used and it's so hard sometimes to find what you really want. If I was set up to be able to record our drummer, I'd give him a shot.

Thanks again, and by the way, I checked out some of your tunes on soundclick and you remind me of Evanescence (which is a high compliment). :)
