Songs Forum - Song Critique Panel, rotation?

I wonder if this is do-able or not. I know the songs forum is fairly effective in the fact that most members do give feedback on songs that are posted. Sometimes some songs might not get any feedback at all. Sometimes, all the feedback is "great song!" but no constructive feedback (no songs are perfect... except mine. right?)

Would anyone be down with signing up on a list of rotating "song/mix critique guys" that would take turns (on a rotating schedule) just to make sure no song is missed? Very short point form critiques/suggestions would be all that's necessary, just to give the song person some ideas of stuff to try differently, or praise what they've already done well. Again this is already being done for the most part, but just for some consistancy it might make it even that much better for those who are posting songs. Especially people new to the songs forum. They'd know for sure that within a day or so they'll have some feedback that might get them un-stuck or re-enforce what they might be doing well. ya know?

Just throwin this one out there... Not even sure if it's feasable or needed, but just an idea... Could even be an organizational nightmare. I could lose my job because I'm typing this up at work and going on forums is against my company's Code of Conduct. hmmmm... maybe this WAS a bad idea... heh...

EDIT: just to clarify, if you're not on the rotation, it doesn't mean of course you can't provide feedback. It's still the same old same old as normal. This would just GUARANTEE timely feedback for anyone posting a song/mix.... again... don't feel bad to shoot this idea down, cuz i'm already doing it a bit in my head, but it's just a brain fart I had here at work...

Sounds like a nice idea but not all that workable.

It would have been nice to get an opinion of my songs from my post (http://www.cakewalk.com/forum/tm.asp?m=427528) but all I got was a strange unspecific criticism of the web service provider!

    Hi.

I actually don't normally swim in the songs forum, just use the Sonar one, but the electronica contest had me dropping in here and there and I caught this thread.

I would be delighted if there was a mechanism in place to get a set critique from a set or random panel of forum folks on a track(s). Not unlike the "submit your demo" areas on Computer Music or Sound on Sound (and probably every other sound mag).

Whether that meant generating a list of reviewers and giving them tours of duty or some other way, I'd be happy to participate on both sides of the process.

    thx
