NEED HELP! BIG PROBLEM!

Im in the middle of recording my bands first CD. Im trying to mix everything to make it sound good.

The problem is when I try to record all of the tracks from a song into a single track so I can export it as an MP3. There is some kind of delay in between the playback and recording. When the recording is done you can hear delays in it. I need to fix this ASAP. It never did this before.

Are you bouncing the tracks or recording? If you bounce the tracks to one track, you can then export them to an MP3. If you do it that way there should not be a delay.

To bounce the tracks, Highlight all the tracks you want to include. Make sure the now time is set at the beginning of the song. Go to the edit tool bar then select ‘bounce to tracks’.

After you create on track, you can manipulate it if you want (compress, EQ and so on). Then select only the track you just bounced, then go to File-Export-Audio. You will get some options and one of them should be to export it to an Mp3.

This process should work without any delays.

By the way, the audio quality of an Mp3 is not as good as a WAVE file, so unless you need to use an Mp3 for some special reason, I suggest exporting to a WAVE file. It is bigger but has a higher quality.

Most of my files are exported as .wav files. I have to convert them to MP3's so they will be small enough to fit on my website and my MP3 player.
It was more of an echo than a delay though. Like when the snare drum was hit, there would be an echo of it a few seconds later...It sucked.
    Thanks for the help though

    Hey,

Check to see if input monitoring (options > audio) is turned off. This would be a likely cause of the problem youre describing.

I have the same problem as well. but what I do is open project5. I then go to the delay window. at right side of the delay. I turn the delay all the way down. And when dosen't help. And or I have to go to the audio window. I then slide the buffer bar button all the way to safe. Then I hit wave profiler and then it sets its self. and all the delay is gone. I would try that if I was you. works for me.

    Dear 1megadet,

I have a similar problem. Did you ever get yours fixed?
