Anyone tried this guitar yet?

Neat...a guitar designed to connect to your puter and run VSTs, among other things....

    Avvie,

Have not tried this Guitar. Ibanez also offers a Guitar with the GK pickup/connector in the body. Was looking at it as well.

I have one on order that should be here in a couple of days.I plan on using it with Reason soft synth, mainly for recording.Don't play live much anymore. If you want I'll post my results after I mess with it for a while.

I tried it in the store hooked up to a roland guitar synth.Tracking was pretty good, about what I had expected from researching it.It seems like it will be a good purchase, given the pitiful level of my keyboard playing.I'm sure I'll have to fix far fewer bad notes in the software using it anyway.

From what I've read, the peizo/midi set up seems to be more reliable than the add on pick up type, but either will depend on your playing style in the end.

Now that I think about it, it makes sense that none of you would have tried this axe because it was designed to compliment Logic Pro Audio, and I think that it's distributed through MacAuthority stores. Of course, to me it seems like a MIDI controller is a MIDI controller, and it would work with any VST program.

I have a buddy who is the in-house Logic Pro expert at MacAuthority in Nashville....he sent me an mp3 of an arrangement that he recorded with this axe, and I was impressed. It was a jazz number with brushed drums, a mirimba and a double bass, along with some synth padding. I know for a fact that he has no talent at all with keyboards, so he was happy to be able to play what he wanted to hear with this guitar.
I am a purist at heart and generally view VSTs as faking it, but I can see myself starting to allow a little wiggle room for recording strategies. I've heard my music, and it couldn't hurt.

That was my understanding. If it puts out midi, any synth or sequencer is fair game.

I put a Gr3 midi pickup on my variax and run it through a roland gI-20 and get great results. I love using a giutar as a midi controller. Sometimes I'll even have my guitar sound recording and trigger guitar string samples for "real" instant double tracking.

I have a couple of Moore's. The most important thing is the guitar is a great sounding "guitar" and it's extremely versitile. This guitar will work with any program!!!! Apple and moore have a distribution deal. It was not designed strictly for logic.

I use a roland Gi-20 to track with. YOU must have a 13 pin(connector on moore) to a midi converter. (Any roland guitar synth(gr-20,30.33) or a gi-20 converter, only no built in sounds. It tracks well with softsynth's but is a tad bit better with hardware synth's (A microhare quicker with tracking and sometimes a little more stable.)

It tracks much better than a stick on still midi pick-up.( I have a gk-2) The peizo has direct string contact where the gk pick ups "pick up the vibration thru the air first.
