Denver Area Sonar Users?

Any Sonar users in Colorado, more specifically the Denver / Boulder / Fort Collins area? If so, might anyone be interested in getting together to compare notes to learn from each other? This online group is awesome but it's not so great for seeing other people's setups and seeing face-to-face how other people are making "it" happen. Having met Chaz the last trip to Florida, I see this face-to-face stuff could be really valuable.

    i am!

im right in downtown by coors field, wouldnt mind sharing/trading things, see how you work, etc.

i do mostly electronic (midi) music, then usually have female vocals sung over them. my point: most of my stuff is midi, so if this isnt your bag, then no biggy.

So would you be interested in coming up north for a meet-n-greet? Or possibly opening up your place so us locals could meet you?

Yeah I hear you there Mike. Same here. I'm actually going to be driving through CoS this weekend en route to Canon City, but there won't be any time to make any stops. But I do get down there occasionally and with the right motivation - like maybe checking out someone else's studio (and with a proper invite of course), I could be convinced to make the trip on a random weekend sometime. And of course, if you get up to Longmont feel free to look me up.

    BlindDog,

I live in Sedalia, moving to Pradera in Parker in a month. Be glad to attend a meeting or two. What do you have in mind?

I think if we could see the kinds of things each of us are doing, there's a great deal that could be learned. Personally, I'd love to sit in on someone else mixing. I mean, I have my ways of doing it, but there might be something new and cool that someone else is doing that I haven't thought of.

Other than this and a few other online forums, there's not a lot of support for those of us producing OPM (other people's music). I'd like to change that even if only in our microcosm. Understand, I'm not looking for some kind of club, but hey, if someone is local and there's a possibility we could trade notes and stories periodically for mutual benefit, then by all means it can't hurt to ask.

I would be glad to get together. I am only using my work to write with and to record the band. Not a lot of mixing going on - more idea transfers. It would have to fit in the schedule - right now its pretty tight with moving into a new home, working on getting a new band out of the shutes. The schedule will be in better shape end of June.

    Best Regards,

    Lance

    Hi Kevin,
I didn't know you had posted this until you replied to my Voxengo question. I am always interested in learning more about this whole process. I'm a rookie at this so I would be the one doing all the learning but I am up for it.

Edit: I think whyrag88 is in Colorado too.

I'm in Highlands Ranch. I'd be up for meeting a few other Sonar users too.

    Kevin,

I'm in Littleton. SW Metro Denver. I have alot of recording experience but almost none with Sonor. My studio is at my house, so I'm always out there.

We're getting a pretty good list from Longmont to Colorado Springs, so that places you pretty close in the center. Drop me a note offline (instructions in the profile) and I'll add your name to the list.
