We Need Your Tracks!

We're looking at getting into the mastering business. To this end, we need
a selection of well mixed tracks that we can master and use as demos.

All genres are welcome from ballads to hard dance tracks. Naturally all copyright
remains with the original artist who will also be credited with the work.

So, if you've got a track(s) that fits the bill - email it to me as a 128kps MP3
or similar. You will of course receive back the mastered track.

you are kidding right ? .. you wanna master a 128kbps .mp3 ? surely providing a possibility to upload a FLAC wave or similar is a better option for you and your business ?

    ..but is it 20 - 40% better ?

For the real thing sure - but for an A/B demo comparison mp3 is just fine.

What's your mastering setup like (ie. gear, converters, etc.)? Are you using any analog outboard gear or completely in the box?

I might be interested but I would rather have you download and return in a WAV file format. Do you have a website?

It's all in the box - but consists of the top-end stuff from TC and Waves.

Of course for a real master I'd need a 24bit wav, but for a demo or taster an mp3
    will do just fine.

I can tell you one thing you'll get more respect if you don't encourage people to slam their mixes to the max.

I strongly suggest you read -

I certainly wouldn't be using you for mastering based on your current observations/comments.

    Kind regards

Which is something I've never done. Sounds like a mis-interpretation on your part. I will however greatly miss your custom.

Hmm, I dont know, I might be wrong since I dont have that much experience with mastering... but seeing as its a pretty subtle process, mastering low quality mp3's and posting them in low quality... dosn't that take away a lot of what you can actually hear from the mastering process? :S Except of course for loudness, but due to it not being that high quality, people might think its distorted because of the mastering, and not because the mp3 isn't that high quality.
But as I said, I dont know much about mastering.

128kps <-- is not that bad,... The mp3 encoder that I use “almost” sounds like the real thing, very little aliasing ....

Sounds great! Look forward to the final mix. One point - the vocal could do with a little more compression
as it's taking up a lot of head-room.
