Hi Scott-

In the Sonar help file, this is called Locking Views. Just go to the index of the help file and type in Locking Views to see the info in the help file.

Yes, that's what I quoted in my last post. I agree with Jeff, though, that there's not enough context in the documentation to know that "Locking Views" is what to look for. It's easier to find it in online Help than in the manual, but it could still be better indexed, IMO.

Thanks-

-Susan

Hi Jeff and Susan,

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll jot it down on my list of future topics to cover.

Best,
Scott

Hi Paul,

Yep, DigiFreq is still around. Everyone here should visit the site:

I haven't sent out a newsletter in a while because of being very busy, but I'm working on next issue to go out soon.

I'm just curious though, how the hell did you find this? I mean, did you say to yourself "There's got to be a way to open two p.roll views..." Or did you just happen on it by mistake? Be honest now.

It was more like, "I can't frickin' BELIEVE that this can't be done!!! Dammit! Dammit!!! DAMMIT!!!! Hmmm, what happens if I click with the Control key?"

I was just about to fire off a feature request for this to Cakewalk, TODAY, when dreamkeeper pointed me to this thread. What a timely, fortuitous, serendipitous find! This is so good, it's almost life-changing. (Did I just say that?) Anyway, I am so glad that you hit that CTRL key. God answered my prayer of frustration (and I'm sure those of many others) when you did that.

Oh, guess what Jeff? You get...

..\D

a special hat-tip fom the losguy. I think this is your first? If so, it's long overdue.

Locking Views
To lock a view, just click the lock button at the top right of the view.

And yes, while I was thinking "there has to be a better way to do this", I was also noticing that little lock button and wondering "what the heck is that for"? If I had not been in such a hurry, I might have actually searched for "Lock", and then maybe figured out the gems this uncovers (maybe). But as it is, I've been saved the trouble. Thanks!!!
