Hey, Guitar Players: I want one

One of these, Cornell Amplifiers. I know I have a Boogie and a Soldano. But I've had this itch. Problem is amps are hard to sneak into your house. Programs, rack effects easy to stash. Guitar amplifiers? NO. See my wife is the perfect musician wife and is very understanding of my need for gear. But why do I need 4 amplifiers. Hard to justify........................................JDW

Hmmm, maybe if you bring in a small jewelry box to distract her, she won't see the amp.

Which one is that you're lusting after? I'm thinking that the cute little 10 watt "home recording" could be justified. It is, after all, for recording, says so right on the web page! You don't have one of those......

I'm guessing you want the "Eric Amp" - am I right?

The 40 watter is about the same price as my Budda; though my Budda's only 20 watts. These are my kinda amps as well. Like you don't even need to hear them to know you'll like it. I have the same feeling about Kendrick and Matchless, but I'm married to the Budda till death do we part (or until I get a steady gig which requires considerably more power).

Here's the kicker with the Cornell - the 40 is a 1-12" combo that weighs 70lbs!!! ouch!

Yeah, but it's got that handle on top to make it that much easier for you to foolishly attempt to carry it a couple of blocks and thereby risk ending your guitar playing career altogether.

    "a 1-12" combo that weighs 70lbs!!!"

I carried a 4-10 combo from the parking lot to the center of the mall for a big band gig one time. It still hurts to think about it. After that I used a hand truck.

No, more like $2800. When I already have a couple rigs that get plenty of compliments. But crash_3210, you will find you get really good at smuggling. CDs are peice of cake, unless you leave the packing slip around. I just bought Performance Loops (Drum loops). Man they sound good and so easy to work with. Things were cool till I left the packing slip om the counter (in haste to try them out). She just looked at me and said "you paid $300 for 2 CDs of some guy banging on drums". I said yeah babe, but don't they sound great. She shook her head and was good with it, because I was happy. But $2800 will be harder to make go over. But I'm scheming...............................JDW

Those Cornell amps look sweet. I'm jonesing for an amp made just up the road from me, Carr Amps. I haven't heard anything sweeter lately. Still a bit steep for me, but compared to $2800, the Hammerhead is a steal.

Thanks, johndale, now I have GAS !

That amp looks a lot like the Carvin Belair or Nomad

Have you played through this thing ?
Is it the cool-looking tweedish ( is that a word?) covering?
Is it the class A wiring ?
The site wont let me see these amps ( thank goodness )
I have 3 tube amps already ! Would be hard to sneak into the house
Do what I do; the weekend before ...plan
A very special evening/weekend - dinner movie flowers etc
then try the buy the following week
Worked for me for my 335 ! ( but that used up my guitar-a-year thing)

No but Clapton use's one and I like his tone. A buddy of mine I grew up playing with in VA., got one a couple months ago. Swears it is the best thing since pussy.

Yes, all hand done (the twead) and it is point to point Cathode Bias.

They are a feast to the senses. You know if Clapton use's one. It must have a lot of beauty. Clapton, I REPEAT is not God, but he has a nice tone (most of the time)

I can be had at a reasonable price.

Nah, his lady Susie is a fox. I guess you ain't no wild eyed southern boy. To not know that lingo. You can take johndale out of the south, but you can't take the south out of johndale.
