Reason& Sonar 4

Hi,
I was thinking of buying reason 3 and have downloaded the free trial version. I was wondering if there is any one here rewiring into sonar 4 pro. My question is can you freeze synth into individual tracks as with Cyclone? I have tried with my trial version and did not let me use that function. Is this only because it’s the trial version? If so, is their a way to mix down all of my reason tracks to single .wav files to use in sonar.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks, Dave

yes... but from my experience when you freeze one reason synth it freezes all of reason. other than that its just perky

maybe theres a work around not sure though

There's a 16 channel limit, but once you're happy with the synth tracks you can
convert them to audio from reason and import them into sonar

I LOVE these 2 apps together
Gonna get the upgrade P5 2 for the synths and stuff

Yes any reason track that isn't archived. As for a work around I don't know if there's one or not. I suspect there isn't.
Freeze is always a short term procedure for me. I always end up bouncing Reason tracks down to individual tracks.
I think talldave is experienceing a limitation to the demo version which is why he can't freeze.

Yeh I also think this is a demo limitation.
Because Reason hogs/uses so much resource/cpu I tend to bounce down fairly early.
I always archive the midi track carefully and save a configuration in Reason before unplugging it ie. deleting the Reason track.
I can always put it back in.

    Thanks for the input!

I have also found that reason is a hog of my CPU. Also, when rewiring into Sonar you can really notice the drop in CPU usage when Reason uses Sonar’s engine. It is using Sonar’s engine right? I am new to rewiring programs. Has anyone ever created a song from start to finish with Sonar and Reason rewired? Mixing down and exporting all seems to time consuming to me.
Ps: I have ordered a copy of 3.0 yesterday and will get buy Wednesday this coming week. Can’t wait to use the full version hope you guys can offer some good tips and tricks.

    Again, thanks

Using Reason independent of Sonar doesn't tax my cpu much. Actually Reason is one of the most stable/cpu efficient soft synth programs I have come accross.
