Amplitube Real time help

Hi folks, I've been trying to get amplitube to work in real time, I created a new aux send from my guitar track, to a new stereo buss, then add amplitube to the aux send, my problem is, it works fine once the track is recorded aka blending clean DI guitar sound with amplitube, but I need to hear it in real time so I know what the hell tones I'm making, not fun being suprised on playback only, HELP!?!

    Hey,
I have found that the whole using your computer as an effect box type of thing does not work in real time due to latency issues. Don’t get me wrong I am sure there is a way to adjust the buffer settings to get close to real time, but sorry to be the one to tell you it will never be in real time. Guitar players and amplitude do not mix well. You should try a guitar pod or boss gs-10. I have the Boss GS-10 and it is a dream with the built in speakers and usb connection you would be unstoppable!!

If you want to use Amplitube, in realtime, as you are playing, you need to insert Amplitube, as a track fx, and not as a bus fx. You need to have Input Monitoring enabled, on the same track. Also, in order for the input monitoring to work, you need good stable low latency (ASIO/WDM) audio drivers too. I use Amplitube, with my Delta 66, in either ASIO or WDM mode, and as long as I use a latency of 5.8msec (256 buffer sample), or less, the playing response is no different than playing my guitar direct through my Line 6 POD 2 or SansAmp Classic.

In niether of your posts have you mentioned your DAW specs. If you have a reasonably good/fast DAW and can get lower than 6msecs of latency, you should be able to use Amplitube in real time.

Thanks for the help for the one non sarcastic poster.. I did get it working in real time, my DAW is a dual proc pent 4, 2 gigs of ram, one terabyte of raid storage,XP Pro for AD D to A I use an arrdvark Q10 Pro, my latencey is 1.3 ms, after following advise about the input monitoring, all works great, in fact almost all my FX run in real time now, reverb, flanger, everything, so to the ones who said "It can't be done" well I did it, I had two guitars plugged DI, both playing at the same time, but running Amplitube, with different setting and it just works AWESOME!!!!

That is another great thing about amp sim plugins, you can have multiple instance's, going at the same time. In some of my home studio projects, I've had (4) Amplitube instances, going in realtime. Use it on electric/acoustic guitars, bass guitar (some decent bass amp emulations too), keyboards, most anything that you would use an external amp for. I am anxious to hear the new Amplitube 2.0, when it is finally released.

    Hello,

I am SORRY for my Post I was speaking from my own experience. I have tried all of these types of programs with all of the tricks and tweaks on my system and nothing. Butt you are right I have never tried them on a machine like yours and am glad you got it to work maybe one day I will upgrade my computer and give them a shoot again!!! For now, I will stick with my hardware based fx’s.

OH! And I was not being Sarcastic. I was writing from mine, and lot of peoples experiences.

    Good Luck!!!!!
