"Slip Editing" and file size

Hi,

In Sonar 4.02, after "slip editing" a clip, and thereby greatly reducing its length, the audio file for the clip still shows in windows explorer up as taking up the same amount of space (333 MB--it was originally about 40 minutes long) as it originally did. This despite my having "applied trimming." Any ideas on how to eliminate this apparently wasted hard disk space after reducing the length of an audio clip?

Thanks
