WDM and Asio

What the hell are these things? Im going to buy that MOTU 896 unit and for use with sonar its checked off as WDM....What is this lot?

    Hi, Brian,

    WDM and ASIO are different audio drivers. These represent the underlying code by which your audio software communicates with your installed audio hardware. Likely, you are noting that MOTU indicates that it provides WDM drivers for it's hardware for your audio applications.
