New cheesehead song #3

Attempt number 3 for your enjoyment/feedback: Chicago ("Born in Chicago," Paul Butterfield Blues Band). GTP3 stock bass and drum loops. Used leftymetal's suggestion of doubling up the rhythm tracks using Amplitude using different amp/cab settings.

Pretty good cheesedog...how come you didn't make the lead blaze away 'out front'? I don't mean the panning, I mean the vol

For whatever reason, when mixing down to a wave and then an MP3 file, the volume levels change and the lead gets softer. I went back and actually upped the volume a couple of times on the lead before mixing down to bring the lead out a bit more.

Any idea on why this happens?

Happened the same to me Cheesehead.. I think it could be the MP3 bit rate... to which quality are you converting it? 128kb? if you want, try a little more like 160 or 192 and see what happens.. I will try it myself and let you know

I am already converting to 160. It's happening before that though. I'm mixing down to a wave file first. It sounds weak compared to when I listen to it in GTP3, so I have to bump it up before mixing down.

Anybody know what is going on here?
