Ho do I do that couterised voice thing....???

Hiya, I've just started using cakewalk and am currently trying to figure out the various ways you can enhance your voice... I've got a vocal sample and I would like to try doing that weird computerised effect that Cher normally uses - Like in the song "Music's No Good Without You" and "Different Kind Of Love Song"

Does anyone know how to do this?

    The technique used in Cher's "Believe in Love" was vocoding. I read somewhere in Electronic Musician that they used a Nord Lead patch that nearly matched Cher's vocal tonality. Did some googling and I found this which explained the technique in full:
