I have to agree: Your son is your best work yet! And the sandbox looks good, too. Just round those four outside corners down a bit with a router, or at least bevel the edges with a saw and some sandpaper for safety reasons. If anything is sharply-pointed, that somehow has a magnetic attraction for the little ones.

Now reduce the scale of the interior dimensions down to slightly over monitor size, and build two more of them. Steal a little bit of that sand, and contain it in a sealed soft cloth cover for each new box. Monitor isolation at its finest ...

LOL. Crap. I tried not to show the corners but B-Rock saw through my wiles. I DO indeed intend on sanding those corners!

This is my 23 month old son Erik -- we adopted him a year ago from Russia. He's a blast...we're considering a second adoption from Russia next year!!

For a second there I thought, "What the... has the earth shifted on its axis? Have we been hit by a meteor?" But then I realized that DA had not suddenly become almost prolific and all was well again. Nice box, and DEFINITELY, go for two!!! They're so much fun. My two are two years and a week apart - both boys. And remember, two are not double the work of one - they're 10 times the work. Just joking, it's a labour of love so you don't really notice.... yeah, right.
Now we're contemplating three, don't know if we'll go that far though.

Oh, I don't know - if it gets more wet then it'll just get muddy.

I totally sliced my face right next to my left eye on the sharp corner of a coffee table with I was 4. I had to get 3 stitches. That sucked, but now I've got a subtley awesome lookin scar :D.

my brothers and I had a giant sandbox when we were kids

-- we made big mazes for toads to try and find their way out (they're actually very good at this by unexpectedly hopping up to the top of the maze walls)

-- and we also used it for jumping into from the porch roof -- one memorable time when my older brother took away the ladder so I couldn't get down any other way, I jumped between a bunch of toys and was really glad I hadn't hit anything and then my knee came up and hit my chin and nearly knocked me out -- dizzy all day -- maybe ever since

Hey, I'm impressed the lawn is mowed! - That would be an accomplishment at my house!

(Did I mention the product I've been working on non-stop? - and no, it's not a P5 tutorial... sorry...)
