Glace is awesome. It's not a "can't live without it" tool for me just yet, but it does bring a sound to the table that is unmatched from most other verb-y effects. Add a light EQ boost in the upper end and it'll rival just about anything else out there for frosting.

Yes, it's different. I don't use it as my "standard" reverb, but when something a little more, well, unusual, I suppose, is called for, it can be perfect for the job. You definitely need to play about with it a lot to get the hang of it - but well worth the time spent.

A lot of KvRists seem to like it on vocals. I haven't tried that yet.

However, I am with those who say that it's a great "effect" reverb. The standard settings on it do sound pretty good, but it does a lot of things that most reverbs don't and that's what I use it for.

I find that when my other verbs just don't cut it in a track or a bit too strong, I will offen turn to the Glaceverb and it will offen do the job well. But here is the rub, as I get more plugs I find it far harder to be satisfied with what I use on a track. Too many plugs to choose from.

I like it because it has a cool interface, which is becoming ever more important to me. You can see and adjust the room size, and it's helpful the see the size of the room change in front of your eyes. Also, as others implied, it has character as opposed to being neutral, which in certain situations is exactly what's needed.

Yeah, it doesn't get any easier does it...

I remember when most freebie VST's were crap! So much for the good old days...

I agree, it's more of an FX but for a free plug, it's amazing.

As an aside: bitman, the UAD-1 Plate 140 is very impressive. If you have the UAD-1 card, try the demo.
