String Sounds in V2

Are the string sounds in v2 any better than the samples in V1. I found these really dissapointing, and this is really the main selling point of upgrading for me (as I use the DXi's in Sonar anyway) as I think my Proteus samples are way past their sell by date!!!

Dimension has some very nice strings, I guess it depends on how you plan to use the sounds for example composeing an Orchestral Arrangement or throwing some strings into a dance track, but i think the strings are well rounded But then again i didn't go by sounds when deciding to upgrade P5 i decided to upgrade P5 because of its features as a DAW,

I really want to use them in two ways: 4 part strings (2 x Violin, Viola and Cello) to accompany a voice; and bigger string arrangements in folk and ambient type of music. I use Sonar as my main sequencer, so although I might use P5 2 as a scratchpad on my wok laptop, it is really the synths and sounds I'm interested in.

I'm not too interested in a 'lush' sounds as good individual sounds. I think my choice lies two way because of my budget issue - either Sampletank Symphony Strings or upgrade my P5 to v2. What do you guys think?

Well with Demension that is a part of P5 you have a sampler based synth that goes as deep as you can get if you want to develope sounds.

Seems to me SampleTank is much more limited unless you just want to play preset. I can't speek to the quality of ST's presets but tweeking Demension is UNLIMITED. Not only that did I mention Demension is UNLIMITED in doing what you want...

And you don't have to deal with mindless software ativation requirment. (Yes this IS my biggest sore point with software companies).

The point is that I am after a decent String sound for a budget price (yeah yeah - I know ). What I am interested i is the quanlity of the string multi samples in P5 v2 - the strings in v1 for the sampler were terrible. It isn't the sampler I want - it is the samples. So yes - it is pre-sets, in that I want well-samples real acoustic strings that I can then process in Sonar.
