FW1884 EQ Controls w/ Sonar 4, Input Monitoring Selection?

OK. I like this unit for the most part but have two significant issues.

1) There is a section of controls that appears to be for tweaking the channel EQ. I can't seem to get that section to work as the button lables would indicate. I am obviouly missing something. Any help on this?

2) It appears that you can only do input monitoring on one bus through the master fader and mix with sonar output out on 1-2. That is so annoying.

On my M-Audio FW410 there was a great little popup panel where I could bring a guitar in on input 1, monitor it (zero latency) on output 4 which goes into my effects box, and then record the effects box output back on input 2 (which is monitored into my mix). This allowed me to record both dry and wet while zero-latency monitoring only the wet through my mix while recording. Now with the FW1884 there is no way to do this without externally patching through another mixer or otherwise hardware splitting my guitar in front of the FW1884.

Am I missing something or is this just the way it is? (this seems really weak here)

Other than that this board is cool, I love the transport controls.

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately I beleive that is correct. I'll try to test it.

    Hi:

I think that CP is correct. I have the FW-1082, and the inputs are pretty much "hardwired". In other words, you can't do a lot of patching. You could possibly try using the inserts for your FX box, but you still would be limited in that if your guitar was plugged into input 1, you have to record on input 1, but you could still go through the FX box.

I'm not sure what you mean by the first question, because as I said I have the 1082, and the controls are slightly different.

foodog, I was able to use the EQ buttons with my FW-1082 and Sonar Producer edition, it was only a matter of making sure that the EQ were enabled and that I was tweaking the correct channel. It obviously will not work in Sonar Studio, since there are no intrinsic EQ controls.
