BCF2000 and soft synths

I was trying to assign my BCF 2000 (v1.10) to control the soft sythns that come packaged with HS (Edirol VSC, Dyad Dxi, etc.). I've not had any luck with this. I usually use the BCF in Mackie emulation mode for mixing, but I wanted to assign it to control the parameters of the soft synths. Has anyone had any success with this?

My though was to buy a BCR2000 to control my soft synths and just use my BCF in Mackie Emulation mode to mix, but I wanted to test it first before I bought something to take up even more of my desktop!

Perhaps only the "better" synths (Native, etc.) can have their parameters assigned to a control surface?

Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!

Your question is vague, at best...Control in what way?

Do you have a MIDI keyboard? If so, use that to control the soft-synths...It takes some time to program but, if you know MIDI, it should be simple...

Sorry for being so vague. I do have and old yamaha keyboard that I use just to send note messages to the sequencer. It has no assignable controls (that I'm aware of). I don't run the midi back out to the keyboard, I use the soft synths in HS to generate my sounds. I was trying to use the BCF to easily change banks, send program changes, adjust parameters of the soft synth itself (depth, rate, chorus, etc.). I can do this with a mouse, but it would be a lot more efficient if I could assign these controls to a set of knobs/faders. I hope this clarifies things a little more. Thanks for your time!

The BCF2000 should do everything you want it to do, and it IS compatible with CW...Suggest you read the respective manuals & help files to make sure your configurations and connections are correct...I've never used any Behringer product so I can't give you any detailed help...

Well I have used the BCF plenty in Mackie mode, and it is great. I highly recommend it as a control surface for someone who doesn't want or need to shell out $1000 for the Mackie. I just haven't found a way to assign it to the soft synths. The only bad thing about the Behringer products is that I find their manuals/documentation to be a little lacking in detail! Though that is just my opinion.

    Thanks for your help Papa.

    Cheers,

    krisruns,

Have you checked other forums such as THIS ONE that deals with peripheral hardware devices? You may find an answer there.
