Sonar 4 with Tascam US2400 strangeness

Hello Sonar gurus,

Has anyone seen this? I'm running Sonar 4.02 with the latest Mackie Control plugin and a Tascam US2400 control surface. It works fine...except...

I have a 19 track live project about 1 hour in length. I'm under the gun to get it done so I can't stop and experiment much right now.

When I have my 19 tracks armed for automation and click on "record automation", data gets recorded perfectly as I move the faders and envelopes are created. Then, when I take my hand off a fader the volume jumps pack to the point where I started recording, not where I left the fader. If I stop, back up, and play the project again, the volume follows the reorded automation perfectly. In other words, it plays correctly and differently from the incorrect playback while recording the automation.

Maybe I'm missing something but this behavior makes it very difficult to mix. Any ideas?

Go to Options>Project>MIDI> and see if "Zero Controllers when Play Stops" is checked. HTH.

Yes, it is checked. Should it not be?

As an additional interesting point, I just started working on the 2nd hour of this show. So far, Sonar and the control surface work fine on this file. When I let go of a fader, the volume stays where it should be. I think the problem might have started after I got 30 min or so into the first file. It'll be interesting to see if it happens again.

[edit 6/10/05] After I put about 10 minutes of data into the 2nd hour of the show the same thing started happening. I finished the mix by stopping playback and clicking "record automation" again after any fader changes. This keeps the playback level where the fader was last left. Its a messy workaround!
