My Setup

I'm not quite sure of the proper way to do this without spending a ton of money, so if anyone has any better ideas let me know.

I am trying to record myself playing sax, piano, keyboard, and bass, so here is what I do.

Bass-->Amp-->Line in on comp with Music Creator Pro
Sax-->MXL 990 and MXL991 mic-->Phantom Power-->XRL to Headphone style adpater/cable-->Mic on comp with Music Creator Pro
Piano (a nice electric one)/Keyboard-->I use the headphone jack on the piano-->a Monster cable--> Aux Line in on comp with Music Creator Pro

I have a Santa Cruz sound card that I just plug all of this into.
If anyone has any better ideas that aren't $300, please let me know.

For about $60 you can get a behringer 802 mixer that will interface all of this and give you a phantom power 48 volt connection for the condensor mikes and a great way to plug everything into the sound card and avoid over powering the card with things.
