10 this is "ill". You got skills. A bit long but at this point it s irrelevant. Could be used in a long scene or to just chill.
Good work. I wish I was as willing to share my work.

the intro was really quite creepy. your mix is flawless as always, why do you ask? i thought maybe that acoustic guitar part could use more reverb/delay because it sounds just a touch flat. the riff is quite surprising though. kinda renaissance sounding. this did have a lot of transitions, but using bits and pieces of repetition helped keep it somewhat unified.

does it need something--maybe. i think some sort of melodic vocal sample that could repeat occasionally throughout to tie the sections together might be a good addition. the words to the song should be as follows:

A day without rain is like
    a day without sunshine

these aren't my words. it's by the great poet A.R. Ammons. i think somehow it might fit this song. i am of course kidding by asserting that you need specific lyrics, but i do like this poem and i think it might somehow fit.

I had trouble with this one for some reason...I ended up mixing it down in headphones because it was about 2 or 3 in the morning...didnt want to wake anyone up. thanks for the suggestions...I like the idea of a female sample...I do have the slight breathing girl through out the piece...but it could always use another sample.

anyway...thanks for listening and commenting....some good ideas there. I really like how this one turned out...maybe i will just leave it the way it is....its really starting to grow on me.

Great opening. I must say this is brilliant and definitely up there with your best imo. The mix was excellent, really grungy and thick, nice. I agree that a female vocal sample would be a good addition, but not overused though. Great stuff again from you Sean, really enjoyed it.

hey mon---when are you gon put out an album? preferably in a dj friendly 12" format. I need some good downtempo illbient stuff like this to work into my sets. No really, man you just keep bringin the hotness. I really like this one, though. Aside from your intros, (which are a tad bit long IMO), you have such an innate sense of harmony, i think, and a real feel for layering up samples that work together. I feel that this piece really grows and evolves, which is often missing in most music nowadays. Big up, once again. Great stuff to listen to on a saturday mornin by the way.

    Hi Sean.

    Checking in now!

    ...

After a listen, I can say this is indeed up to par at least with your other stuff at least production wise. It didn't quite do much for me like your last 2 pieces...er 3 actually counting the collab with Orphan.
The guitar was totally out of his poor little element. That spanish guitar (DIMENSION right?) is a HUGELY overused instrument in trance circles nowadays...everyone goin' for that chill/summer in IBIZA sound...so for me it sounded alienated by all your spectacular other ambient stuff goin' on around it. Thats just a trancers vantage point though. Melody was alright, but then again...you're not a melodic kinda guy.
Unlike your other stuff, this one didn't really "play" in my mind as nice as your other movie soundtrack-ey compostions. Instead of a drooling alien about to gorge himself on an unknowing innocent 12 yr.old girl.... I saw a big tanker truck dispensing his load of diesel into big underground tanks. It seemed to sound like a big truck idling.
The track holds its own though because of the great panning and FX you use. Just wasnt a big fan of the vibe on this one.

maybe it's not so great that Dimension has such a nice variety of great guitar sounds. I ended up reaching for one in my latest project.

i think this is another really good :10: track -- maybe not up there with the A+ tracks, but a solid B or B+. The steady pulse of the low buzz got to me a little, but maybe cause i'm soliciting more comments on my work from live players and they like a little more feel.

otoh, i didn't think it was too long at all the structure semed about right to me.
what i don't understand is why :10:'s work isn't more widely played and known.

I loved everything about this track. Sometimes your beats can get a little tripped up, but you never stray so far from the beat that I can no longer grasp the percussion. I thought the spanish guitar 'plucky' sound was in perfect contrast to the dark bed behind it - and the melody itself was entirely appropriate without calling attention to itself. Very understated. I also didn't think the song was too long 0 in fact I looked at the time indicator just as I started really "getting into" this track, and the 4:00 mark had just elapsed. No gripes here. I could do with more of this happy/sad interplay.
