question about 64 bit dual core

hello, my question is do i have to download the beta windows x64 to be able to use the amd 64 x2 dualcore? or would the ordinay 32 bit windows xp provide good service?

    the amd64 will run in 32bit mode and the home or pro XP will work with it
    just fine. of course, you won't be taking advantage of 64bit addressing and
    processing unless your run XP 32/64 and 64bit applications.

    It is my understanding that XP HOME does not support multiple processors. How about the new dual processor chip things? Anybody has knowledge on this?

    yup XP home will support a dual core processor as it just sees it as a multithreaded cpu.
