Upgrade from Home Studio 2002 to Music Creator Pro?

Has anyone upgraded from Home Studio 2002 to Music Creator Pro? I actually wanted to upgrade to a new version of Home Studio, but my computer is too old and doesn't meet the specs.

I was wondering how the two programs compare or if it's even worth the cost of upgrading. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I am afraid that would not be an upward movement, spend the money on the VSTi wrapper and open that world up.

Thanks for the information. I had a feeling that Music Creator might not be the best way to go. I guess sticking with Home Studio 2002 for the time being is the best thing.

My problem now is that I know nothing About this VST technology. The only thing I have figured out is that Home Studio 2002 supports the plug-in. I guess I need to do some research now.

Once again, any thoughts or suggestions would be most welcome. Thank you.

MC and Home Studio are Direct X compatible hosts - meaning that the applications recognize and can run Direct X based effects and instruments from within the programs.

Programmers can create other effects and instrument plugins using the VST programming platform, which (I believe) was developed and based on Steinberg's Cubase application. Cakewalk products don't recognize VST based instruments or effects without the use of a wrapper, such as THIS ONE or THIS OTHER ONE. The wrapper converts the VST instruments/effects into a format that Cakewalk products can read.
