remix a :10: song......

well sorta.....every once in awhile i get bored, so I try and create some tracks for other's to add onto...
so yep...this is another one of those threads...but this time...I am giving the P5 file with all the patterns.

so add something to it if you want...mix it up alittle...tear it apart....what ever you want....then post it back up here.

loops and patterns ....not the best mix...but its an example.

heres the zip file for the P5 file

I have included block fish/ stringtheory 1.5 and drummatic 2...these are the only outside VST's i used.
also...it helps if you have the RMIV....because, thats what I use for all my drums. other than that...you can use the patterns with your drum sampler of choice.

now get remixing.....and have fun.....
thanks for playing.

I notice that as the bass notes play, the other strings and stuff die ...the volume totally fades out. Must be the limiter or compressor you have on. Never noticed this phenomenon before.

    Hey Sean,

Here's my 80 minute remix. 80 minutes is the time spent, not the length, you'll no doubt be pleased to hear. Didn't do much; change a couple of sounds, moved some bits around, added a bassline of which I should be ashamed. There's a really clunky transition around 1:30, but I have to get up at 5:30 and something has to give.

I had fun anyway, so thanks for providing me with a diversion from the humidity!

OK you know I can't pass up a challenge. I started this and it's almost done. It sounds a lot different then the original.

hello ucacjbs...sounds good...thanks for giving it a shot....
I liked the bass line.. I also like the over all feel to it....not bad for a little over an hours worth of work.

triscuit: looking forward to hearing something from you.

Yeah, in the morning the bassline sounds better than I thought (kind of backwards from the usual way of things).
Thanks for putting this stuff up there - I'd had a long day, and it was a great way to unwind with the chance to be a little bit creative without having to start from scratch. Yup, sometimes I'm feeling lazy.

Another good thing is that you've returned my focus to String Theory. I know you're a big fan (as are Blipp and quite a few others around these parts), and playing with it for a while last night, I'm getting there too. The deep string sound with the longish attack is a preset from there.

I too am looking forward to triscuit's rendition. I think he's teasing us with the claims of "it's almost done". Oh OK, I just saw that he mailed that at 10 past 4 in the morning, so perhaps he's sleeping now.

sometimes I think i reach for it to much when working with songs...but it just sounds so damn good.

    anyone else going to try?
