VST/DXI automation problem

Hi guys'

How can I automate a soft-synth parameter in Sonar?
I want to record the slider or knop movements but somehow it's not possible?

Is there a way to do this?

    Arm Parameter.... Remote Control... choose any Controller... Turn Off the ARM REC (red R Button) In All Tracks... THEN the record automation button shoul Appear... then record automation !

    I tried it, but I only manage to record automation from the FX-plugins and the console.
    Automating instruments like a V-station or a Moog is still a problem for me.

    Hey Raffa

    I have seen this question come up a few times ( i asked it a few months back )
    I have the same problem and have yet to figure it out.

    What i did was go out and bought a cheap midi controller with assignable knobs.

    then i assign the parameters of the softsynth to the knobs by their CC number.
    problem is now that softsynth all have like 100 plus parameters and if you wanna say
    automate resonance, you have to pick the right parameter

    You probably try to automate synths that have been added using the SynthRack ?
    Sonar is stupid .. ( ) it can only expose the parameters for automating synths if you added them to a FX Bin of an audio track.

    Once added using the SynthRack you have no right click "arm parameter" options ..

    ohh..so thats the problem. I`ve also been struggling with this for a long time now. I was thinking that I had a bad bug.
    Anyone know if Cakewalk will do something about it, or is there already a another way around this f**** problem? Please let there be!

    eh? how do we do that? expose the parameters and their controller numbers, that is?
