VSTi's fail to load after 2.01 Patch?

Anyone else run into this yet? I just opened a project I am working on and my instances of Square I & Triangle I both failed to load. Tried re-wrapping to no avail---uninstalled then re-installed both plugins---still no love. WTF? It seems to only be these two that have been affected...all my other VSTs seem to be functioning (both plugins and synths).

I know its late but now my groove is all thrown off. I guess I'll go to bed now....

you'll have to go into your registry and do a regedit... clean out those ol' dll registries and reinstall those VST's again.
You know how to do that!?

yo DA, what up? Thanks for the reply--- yeah, I know how to do that if you think it will work... I did a quick reinsatll but did not think to edit the registry.... I'll go try and see if thatr works...back in a few....

Edit: Hey DA, still didn't work-- I don't know, maybe I didn't clean everything out thouroughly...I really didn't see too many registry entries although I only looked in the software folders of both [hkey_local_machine] & [hkey_current_user]---do you think there could be more in another location?

No all VST's and VSTi's are perfectly intact here and working 100% fine after 2.01 update.

edit: Okay....so maybe I overreacted a little bit...everything is fine now...all vst's are present and accounted for---after hiiting the [reset all...] button in the VST Plug-In Search Paths dialog and checkibg the Re-scan options...all systems are go! Sorry for the drama...

maybe it's just the cake vsti/vst wrapper. try re-wrapping the plugs and synths.

I've noticed that that particular option on the adapter doesn't seem to work properly...it just seems to scan all the plugins again, but never actually removes invalid plugin references from the registry. I always just Reset All now if I want it to properly clean up the VST list...

John, for future reference here is info on a helpful plugin management tool (pulled from the Project5 Wiki's General FAQ section):

Project5 comes with a nice little utility called the Plugin Manager. Run \Plugin Manager\PMInstall.exe from your installation Project5 DVD to install it. The plugin manager will let you enable/disable individual plugins as well as manage plugin settings. By disabling an offending plugin you may be able to then open your project. This provides a clean and safe way to manipulate plugins.

    techead:

thanks for the tip - I've actually had the plugin manager installed since sonar 2

It has been very useful in dealing with dodgy plugins in the past... I used to indiscriminately install free vsts on my daw years ago...those days are over now that I pretty much stick with native synths and effects(i.e. cakewalk, rgc:audio stuff and others that have passed the rigourous quality control tests by members of this forum)

Hopefully my inane oversights will serve to better enlighten others in the future.Peace.
