can you export cakewalk files to pro tools?

I was wondering if you could save a song completed in sonar onto cd and load into a pro tools session...I heard you can do this by saving the song as an .omf file. Is that true??? thanks...Steve.

    Steve -

This is one of those topics that comes up from time to time. If you search the forum's database, you'll find plenty but in brief:

    1. Sonar can export as OMF - but Pro Tools users can only import OMF if they have the necessary plug-in - best check with the person you're sending them to first.

    2. Plan B could be to export tracks as Broadcast Wave - they can be imported into a Pro Tools project one by one.

    Cheers.
