SEND BUS

I really don't know how to correctly setup the send bus output. Should it be set to None or the Master Bus? Thanks

You send the output from your track(s) to your main bus (or most of the time you do).

You use a send bus to "divert" some of the signal from one or more of your tracks to an Auxilliary Bus, usually to add some of the same FX (eg Reverb) to each of them. then send the output of the Aux Bus to your main bus.

Sorry to be so vague, and there are other things you might want to do using Sends from tracks to busses, but, as dreamkeeper syas, you'll have to tell us what you're trying to do.

    Keeping it simple:

Do you want to use a send to put group effects on eg a reverb for various tracks ?

If no, then have it set to none, and have the output of the audio track to "master"

If you want a send then select the bus that you want to use (create a new one if there is not one available (usually visually seen at the foot of the track view 1or far right of the Console view.

As dreamkeeper and Glazfolk indicated, we need info on what you want to do to help you further

(ps message to Geoff... I think the to and fro, your original question/header and the final time line ..................with dates.......... and the word continue ****ing, attached to it got a response from the office ! Hope it helped ... no offence was ever intended to you or others by the way at all in that thread.)

I want to create a Reverb Send: I inserted a stereo bus(Send Bus). Then on my piano track, I inserted that stereo bus as a send. I put a reverb FX into the stereo bus FX bin.

The Send Bus output is automatically set to ASIO 1and2- my Master Bus output is also set to ASIO 1and2. The piano track output is set to Master Bus.

Should I leave the Send bus output to ASIO 1and2 or should I change the output to go to the Master Bus?

Assuming that your master bus output is set to your main-out (ASIO 1and2), the result would be the same. BUT: normally, when using a master bus, you may want to put mastering plug-ins on the master bus, use the built-in EQ or simply have one central control for the whole mix before it reaches your main-out. So basically you want to route everything through the master bus and from there to your main-out.

    In your situation:
    - set track output to master
    - set output of Auxilliary bus (where you have Reverb) to master bus
    - set master bus out to main-out (ASIO 1and2)
