Stop The Pain - New Blues Song (go figure)

This is a new one we just finished up. My partner did all the music on this one. I just added the vocals/lyrics. I think this is one of the best blues tracks he has written imho.

Nice groove. Not an expert on blues, but it feels good to me.

Great vocals! The highly processed snare seems inconsistent with the style. I like the lead at 2:15 (both of them--especially the clean one). It would be cool to see this music performed live. What's the instrument at hte begining? ... heavily muted trumpet maybe?

    Good stuff.

Thanks for the listen and the feedback guys, it is appreciated.

I believe that was Sax on the opening done via synth. I will ask him tonight when I see him. I thought the solos were perfect.

    Hi, Dazed!

Liked the track, overall. The minor blues thing took me back to early Led Zep's "Since I Been Lovin' You," which was a *cool* minor blues - yeah!

Anyway. Liked it. The guitar solo had kind of an authentic old-blues-guy thing goin' on. But, I didn't really care for the pseudo-synthy sax sound on this, and, of course, a live drummer would have been cool. (Believe me, I know, everyone tells me the same thing!)

Vocal delivery was working for me.

Let's see who chimes in first with the "Well, this isn't really a 12-bar blues." (Oops, I guess it was me!) But, that's immaterial.

Really nice tune, very convincing blues...from the instrumentation, to the solos, to the vox. I believe this is the 2nd blues track I've heard from you guys and both have been superb.

I love the use of the horns in this track and Florida did a real nice job with the solos.

And Dazed, your vox are really good...its hard to really compliment you because they are just real professional.

Nice effort guys...look forward to more...and I know you won't dissapoint...because you guys are so darn prolific.

    Dazed,

Sounds good. You have a very distinct and
good voice, fits the song well. Nice solo.
The backround keys need a little verb on
them IMO. Or maybe some verb on the whole
mix, again it's my own opinion. You can also get
by without the verb, depends on your preference.
I just feel a little verb would make the song sound
more fuller and warm. Overall, very good musicianship
    and very good production.

M, Ras and Pluto thanks for the feedback!

I would love a live drummer..hell I would settle for a decent dead drummer. Nothing beats live but with two people, less egos this way lol. Appreciate the comments Ras very much ;).

Pluto my partner did a remix on it and it has been swapped out on soundclick. See if that sounds a bit better. Minor changes but I think it is a noticeable difference.

    Thanks again everyone!

Sounds good. Again, very good vocals and very
good musicianship. The only think I noticed that
was different was it sounds like the backround
keys were brought down a little, and i think I'm
hearing some reverb added to the vox or whole
mix, not sure yet, would have to listen again when
i have some time. But it sounds good. Not really
my genre but can appreciate the talent. I can
remember playing some blues during some Friday
night jam sessions way back when.
    It was cool.

[edit] - Ok listened again. Yeah this one is better.
    Like the added verb.

Most appreciative Pluto! I could not write blues if I tried. I am more rock/pop style but I think my partner writes excellent blues tracks. He definitely has it in his blood.
