Reverting to 4.0.2

Hey all, would 'system restore' in Windows XP safely revert Sonar Studio back to 4.0.2? I read some of the recent posts, and if system restore would do it, it sure seems like it would be easiest and best. Thanks!!

It should. Did you read this thread: LINK
Safest way would be a re-install: 4.0, 4.0.1, 4.0.2. Of course de-install first and reboot everytime. Takes about 20 minutes.

Thanks for the reply, Dreamkeeper. I did a system restore back to the day before I installed 4.0.3, re-installed Sonar Home Studio, and it works like a charm. The dreaded 4.0.3 was causing some kind of conflict that doesn't occur in 4.0.2. A fellow at Cakewalk tech support said that they were going to be updating the patch installer for 4.0.3 very soon, and he seemed to think that it will eliminate the co-existence problems with other Cakewalk software installed on the same machine. Now, if I want to go back to 4.0.3, I just have to restore to the point I made today. Thanks again. Milt

In the "Consolidate 4.0.3 problems..." thread the idea came up, that the trouble might be related to XP configuration, namely disabled services. If this applies to you, you may want to look into this. Good luck!
