Sonar and VMWare

Anyone using Sonar with VMWare and if so, what are your
experiences?

Thanks in advance,

Never tried Sonar on VMW but we use it regularly for development environments and sandboxes. I'd imagine Sonar would struggle, as all the hardware's emulated, and it also uses the hard-drive more than normal Win. You're also immediately reducing the amount of "real" RAM available to Sonar... Why would you want to run it on VMW?

I've also tried running vmware in sonar, but sonar wouldn't even recognise it as a plug in so I gave up. Seemed to make about as much sense to me as doing it the other way...

Kuh, no wonder - you need the plug-socket adaptor veloco-wrapper, we use them regularly for elephant comparisons and roaches. I'd imagine Sonar would shrug, as all the hardware's entitled to, and it also abuses the home-life more than a normal Winge. You'll also immediately start shrinking the amount of "real" HAM available on the Shoulder... Why would you want to ruin it?

Considering all the websites I have read advise getting rid of extra CPU loads, like virus checkers and the like, I can not imagine this is a good way to go. Just make a dual boot machine and boot into windows when you have to.

Better yet, don't think of it as booting into windows. Think of it as booting into Sonar - a non Microsoft operating system.
