pops and glitchs upper 40% CPU

Hello, First of all sorry my bad english I Have sonar 4 producer and i work with a Marian sound card with ASIO drivers. When i only run audio there is no problem because processor meter normaly don´t reach 20%, but when i use DXi ou VST plugins and the meter rise to 40% or more i ear some glitchs. I have buffer size in 2000 with a latency 27 ms. It's a sound card problem or any bed configuration? When i use a sond blaster audigy everithing is perfect smooth and clean (except realy good sound) with 800 buffer.

DAW Specs
PIV 3.0 prescott
1 GB TwinMos (dual 512)
Marian Marc4 Digi
Sound Blaster Audigy
Asus P4P800 E Deluxe
Windows XP pro SP1 with Hyper-Threading ON

    It's a sound card problem or any bed configuration


    i don't know about your bed configuration (maybe i also don't wanna know;) but sure it looks like those soundcards !

    Audigy... AND a "Marian" card (never heard of it) ? sounds like you need a pro (prosumer really) soundcard..
    NOT from Creative..something that was made for musicians for DAW usage.

    Did you try running the card in WDM/KS mode? There are some cards that work better that way.

    Try disabling Hyper-threading....it solved alot of my problems.
