Is Clone Instrument nerfed?

... or am I missing something? When I clone an instrument another track gets dropped in as I would expect, and the instrument itself is preserved, but all other characteristics are dropped - ie. effects, vol, panning etc... On an audio track even the left/right/stereo selection gets reset, which reduces "Clone Instrument" to "Insert Track", basically.

Is there an option to make Clone more inclusive? Does anyone else find this to be a bit of a time-waster?

    darc,

I just cloned DS-864 with panning, volume, attack, and fades - the cloned copy remained as I had set them on the original. Specifically which instrument(s) are not holding on the cloned copies?

I've seen the same kind of thing. If you want to retain external effects, etc., then you should save a device chain and then insert another instance of it - that will retain all of your settings.

Thanks Far Left. I'm not at my studio (eg. living room ) at the moment so I can't provide details, but maybe I didn't describe the problem accurately. What had really caught my attention were two things: Instrument tracks did not maintain audio FX plugins (do yours?) and audio tracks do not maintain input source (left vs. right vs. stereo.) Track clips are maintained, so perhaps I mispoke re: volume and pan.

Crossed in the mail... thanks Orphan.

I've also noticed that the audio effects chain did not come with it when cloned. Kind of odd. Saving a device chain patch is a way to get around it, but that's a few more clicks.

All good. So long as I'm not crazy. (Or no more so than previously documented...) It's a minor complaint but hopefully one Cake can address down the road. Cloning fast to dub a harmony or experiment w/ a new part really keeps the creativity flowing, and this is a tiny speedbump.
