WAIT FOR NOTE OR AUDIO FOR RECORDING

IS THERE AN OPTION WHICH ALLOWS SONAR TO WAIT FOR RECORDING UNTIL THE FIRST MIDI NOTE OR AUDIO IS ACTUALLY PLAYED. EXAMPLES, IF I WAS USING A MIDI SYNTH AND I WANTED THE METRONOME TO RUN BUT NOT BEGIN TO RECORD UNTIL I HIT THE FIRST KEY, OR IF I WAS USING AN AKAI MPC 1000 AND WANTED TO ARM AN AUDIO TRACK FOR RECORDING BUT DIDNT WANT SONAR TO BEGIN RECORDING UNTIL I HIT PLAY ON MY MPC? IT SEEMS LIKE A SIMPLE AND STUPID QUESTION BUT I CANT SEEM TO FIND THE ANSWER!!!!

    Just use Auto punch !

it plays and only starts recording the section you predefined.

SO you can play away and it'll record the part that you previously told it to pick up !

     Yes.
