SonicTimeworks EQ and Compressor

Is there a better way to get these loaded into my system other than from the Sonar CD? I thought the patches upgraded the plugins anyway, so even if I did get them off the CD, they would be unpatched versions. I think Cakewalk ought to have a download section on their site where registered users can download up to date versions of all of the the junk that has been offered on previous versions... Maybe they do, but I just don't know about it.

The patch for the Timeworks Comp & EQ is only necessary for S2. You don't need the patch if you're using S3 or S4.

I would think it would be easier for me to use the CD.

Otherwise you would have to go through another dialog from the web to enter your previously owned serials for what ever you wanted to download and then you would still have to enter it when installing.

CD is much better for me. You could always burn your own CD...

I'm not sure how you would know that. How did you come to that conclusion?

If you have them installed from Sonar 2 (or if you have a backup you can access) just copy the folder that contains the files stw1.dat and stw2.dat to your new system (I forget if it's called 'Sonic Timeworks' or not...) and then run the following commands:

    regsvr32 stw1.dat
    regsvr32 stw2.dat

    Now your plugins are installed.
