go to
View->Synth Rack
Hit the "+" button
Choose the Roland TTS-1
If the dialog comes up uncheck the
thing that says "make midi track" .. you
don't need it if you have existing midi
tracks.
On the DXi track that shows up, route the output
of the track to your master bus or the Motu Main Out
On your Midi tracks, set the output to the
TTS1 .. if you have multiple midi tracks,
make sure the assign the midi track channels
sequentially. By convention, channel 10 is
for drums (General MIDI)
Assign your bank and patches (start out with Bank 0
(which is GM )
Press play .. and you should hear 'em.
jeff
ps: to debug:
Make sure the meter on the TTS is jumping for your tracks .. if
not .. the output of your midi tracks is not assigned correctly
If the meters are jumping and you can't hear it, then the output
of the TTS-1 audio track is not routed to the output of your Motu.
Note ... you're routing to the Audio out of your Motu .. not the
MIDI out.
If you wish to use an external synth, then you can route the midi channels
to your Motu midi out .. to your synth .. and then back into the audio ins
on the Motu. Just make sure you've got the motu midi I/O enabled
(Options->Midi...).
