MiDI Frustrations

I find Midi very hard to learn.

At this moment I'm trying to see If I can play two different tracks with the same
DXi.

I want one to play one voice

and the other to play same beat but different voice in same dxi.

(only using what came with Sonar. Dreamstation and TTS.

Forgive my ignorance...

The TTS-1 can play 16 different voices per instance. Just use a different MIDI channel for each voice. Keep in mind that most MIDI devices use channel 10 for percussion. HTH.

And when you've tackled Phrauges advice, you'll eventually want each voice on its own audio track to mix and process with effects properly. The TTS can do this; it has 4 stereo outs that can each be assigned to an audio track. And BTW, the Dreamstation can play one voice at a time, it's not multitimbral.

Good luck, I have this urge to go to Dairy Queen.

    TTS.

The TTS comes with excellent documentation - just press Help on its panel.
