extend quantizing audition length?

does anyone find the quantizing in sonar woefully inadequate. no snap-to while recording, i was just informed, (cubase has this) only positive swing no negative, and the most frustrating, the audition length doesn't even cover a full bar usually. plus you can't adjust any parameter in real time. can any of these things be adjusted particularly the audition time length? and cakewalk if you're listening how bout some real time features for quantizing, i mean even frikkin' fruity loops has this!

For realtime quantising, use Cakewalk Quantize MFX.

i'm sorry andrew what is "cakewalk quantize mfx"? is that a separate program for sonar that isn't included? different than the midi fx quantize and groove quantize that came with sonar 3 producer edition? i want to make adjustments to the quantizing parameters after i hit the audition button and hear the changes in real time. can what you're talking about, do this? and how can i get it, or do i have it already and don't know? thanks

Basically the same thing. You've been inquiring about using it under the "Process" menu function. Andrew is refering to opening it in the FX bin of a MIDI track and thus in real time. Two different modes of using the same FX.

wow, that's better. i had no idea you could do that. still a little limited no doubt, no clipboard or presets, no bypass? weird, doesn't visually edit on the piano roll, but i'm not complaining, better than nothing. gonna check to see if it works while recording to snap the notes where they belong. thanks for educating guys, really appreciate it..............man, no bypass, alright i am complaining a little....

You can bypass by unticking the "start times" and "durations" boxes.

To make changes to all MFX kick in sooner add this value to the [OPTIONS] section of TTSEQ.ini (found in Program Files\Cakewalk\SONAR 4 Producer Edition).
