Guitar plug-ins or Sound Module

Just wondering if anybody knows of an excellent sounding lead guitar plug-in or sound module for a keyboardist to use? We have the old JV-1010 rack mount sound module and it stinks for guitar lead sounds, Thanks alot.

Are you talking clean guitar or distorted?

Don't mean to hijack, but I'd be interested in both clean and distorted, if you have recommendations. I'm leaning towards Kontakt 2 as my sampler.

There is something called Virtual Guitarrist or similar. Think it's from www.steinberg.de .

Have no idea if it's any good though. But there are demos on everything these days.

Thanks for all your replies. We want some rock distortion guitar leads fully effected already. We do not play guitar at all. We have a new excellent keyboard player and want products to turn the keyboardist into a lead guitarist. It seems alot of the replies I got were products for guitar players themselves, Thanks again.

Okay, we will try your setup above, Thank you

We have sonar 4.0.3 producer with a m-audio midisport 2x2. At the present we trigger the jv1010 from our keyboard and use all the jv1010 sounds. And obviously after we do a keyboard track we can scroll through the different sounds of the jv1010 and apply any because its in midi. Not that we have to do it this way these days. The keyboardist is very good and if we could hear the lead guitar sound coming from the keyboard then he could simply lay it down in audio, not requiring midi at all.

Thanks again for all your help, Sal

Ha!! - I know what you mean there - I use the 1010 and it is a great little synth module but the guitars do stink! - I just tried this yesterday and even though many people don't like these they sounded decent - the session EXP board has a Demo Strat and 2 Dist Guitars - I ran that through the CW FX AMP simulator and the Sonitus Delay - It was'nt all that great but I was able to get a pretty nastly little tone - Of course - i am a bass player so what the hell do i know
