Soundmax integrated card

Dudes:

The card Profiled ok but there are no MIDI outputs to choose from.

Could it be that this card has no MIDI on board, I didn't think there was such thing?

If not, why are no MIDI outputs available?

Thanks - rev

Either set the audio driver to MME-32, or use soft synths instead of the integrated card midi synth, that card doesn't support midi synth if you're not using MME-32 driver mode.

    Thanks, that was it.

The MME-32 gave me a better Profile and I have outputs now (GS Wavetable SW Synth and the MS MIDI Mapper).

I have no inputs but that doesn't matter since I mouse everything in anyway.

    Thanks! - rev

Don't ever use those for anything in Sonar. They are not meant for making music. Use a soft synth instead - you can bounce them digitally, have much better control and better sounds.

I thought that was a soft synth ('SW Synth')?

It is a software synth which works like a standalone device - e.g. when you double-click any GM MIDI file (and your XP is configured that way) you hear this thing. It's not a DXi or VST - meaning there is no real integration into Sonar, you'd have to record it to audio like an external device, no way to (fast) bounce it digitally without quality loss.
