motu 24 i/o

Wanting to buy the motu 24 i/o for live recording purposes......just not too sure if sonar 4.0.2 runs smoothly with this soundcard. Has anyone tried this setup before? Any help would be appreciated.

thanks...

MOTU is on Cakes approved list of audio interfaces and many here have reported great success. I would suggest looking over at MOTU website and make sure your motherboard is compatible.

Yes i does! I have had one for about 2 years now and it has been running smoothly for all versions of SONAR so far...

    All fine here too.
I'm running a 24io and a 2408mk3 with asio drivers - gives you 32 tracks analogue in simultaneous.
I tested at 44.1/24bit, all 32 channels and got no dropouts or artifacts - perfect.

PS the approved hardware list only mentions the 24i, but the 24io also works fine.

Install is sometimes tricky with PCI424 card - you have to follow Motu's instructions religiously, and if something goes wrong you have to start again from the top. Main thing is, don't install the card before the drivers are in place.

I called Motu support regards 64bit drivers and a future PCIexpress version of the card - they say nothing planned as yet. This was before Steve Jobs announced the Apple/Intel thing though, so maybe this will change, for all Apple-centric companies. We'll see what the new ?G6? mobo looks like.

    Best Regards
    Steve
