Compatible MP3 encoder for Sonar LE?

I got an Emu 1616m, which came with Sonar Le, and my trial encoder ran out. I was just wondering whether or not the Sonar 4 MP3 Activator will work or not.

    Nope, MP3 activator only works if you have eg Project 5, with it's full encoder. MP3 activator will then extend the license to Sonar.
    All is not lost though. Look at this:

    L.A.M.E.

    This is the same encoder as used in P5/Sonar, Free download.
    This is the console version which comes as a dos window. You can plug it in to Sonar using Tools/External Encoder Config,

    You can also get a free standalone encoder from LameXP
