Lend me your ears

Hi all,
I could use your help.
A fellow musician heard one of my new compositions, and mentioned a hum.
I respect his opinion, but I am unable to hear it.
If some of you could please give it a listen @ Soundclick, and try to,
1- see if you hear it also.
2- what frequency or range is it in.
All help will be rewarded ultimately.

2nd song= Midnight Cruise .

TIA
Stephen

It's more like a high-piched whine. And a lot of hiss too. HTH!

The best is always yet to come. Now...shut up and make some noise!

It might be the reverb on the bass drum. Sounds "cheap" and to much of it.

No... It's not the kick verb... although it is a bit grainy.
It's on the whole mix. You can really hear it right at the beginning of the song.

I don't hear a "hum", but there's a high pitched noise which is constant from beginning to end. Quite noticable. Sorta like tape hiss. Doesn't seem to be related to any particular instrument. It sounds like some bad cables, or possibly a low quality soundcard.

    Thanks for the replies.
I think I've traced the hiss to my guitar setup.
I went through the song track by track, and there seemed to be a bit of white noise in that track.
My soundcard is an E-Mu 1212M
I think there is a bit too much reverb on the kick also.
Thanks again everyone, this really helps.

    Hi, Stephen,

I love the phrases "Chill guitar" and "Guitar oriented chill." I guess they're appropriate, too, come to think of it!

    I liked this piece, btw.

    Thanks M,
I can't take credit for the Chill Guitar thing, it was some musician friends of mine at another forum, that gave my compositions the "Chill' name.
Glad you liked it, and thanks for the comment, much appreciated.
