help on deciding.. mixer or control surfsce?

I am using a dell desktop dimensions 2100, soon to have a delta 44,I record my guitar tracks and vocals on the pc with mc2. I would like to do the final tweeking on the tracks before burning to cd, I have been told that a mixer could not control the software that all mixing would have to be done with mc2 software mixer, what about a control surface (beghringer bca 2000) realy dont like the point and click of the mc2 mixer. any help on making this decision. thank you Rob D

If you had a 17 track composition, and wanted to mix it down to stereo outside of MC, Sonar, whatever you're using, you would need 17 outputs from your sound card to a multi-track mixer. BIG money. Point and click is the way of the computer. See if Behringer has a web site that can give you more information about the control surfaces' capabilities. Greg
